The ToolBank Stormwater Factory is a catchment system that handles more than two acres of rooftop run-off in the rear of the ToolBank warehouse. We reroute rainfall to water native plants that create habitat for a host of pollinators including birds, bees, bats and butterflies. Additionally, we use run-off to wash our tools.
Established in October 2015, the Stormwater Factory helps repurpose more than 300,000 gallons of harmful run-off annually. We wash 100% of ToolBank tools with re-purposed rain water and use the feature as an education site for a range of audiences.
